Ceramic Substrates manufacture and supply a standard range of ceramic Feed-through Bushes. Our standard range is manufactured from Low loss Steatite and available from stock. Custom designs can also be manufactured.
Males and Female Feed Through Bushes
Steatite is an Magnesium Aluminium Silicate; it is a relatively low cost material with high electrical resistance at high temperatures, good mechanical strength and a low dielectric loss factor.
Steatite is an excellent material for electrical engineering as it can be readily shaped into a wide variety of forms such as washers, bushings, spacers and beads.
Here at Ceramic Substrates we manufacture two types of Steatite, C220 and C221. C220 is a standard Steatite for low cost electrical insulation and C221 is a low loss Steatite, a superior grade of Steatite for high frequency and slightly higher voltage applications. It also has better dielectric and mechanical strength with a good creep resistance.
Some of our customers will need bespoke feed through bushes. We have been making bespoke industrial ceramic components including feed through bushes since 1968 and accumulated a wealth knowledge and experience of making these for our global customer base. Having a bespoke feed through bush made is of course different from our standard range. A customer drawing will go to the tooling department to make a tool to press the required shape of bush. A custom feed through bush will occur a one time tooling charge as a tool needs to be made to your specification. This tool will stay in our factory and further orders will not occur this charge. We are always willing to discuss any of your needs regarding material specifications, advice and tooling.
