Aluminium Nitride

Aluminium Nitride Features & Benefits

Aluminium Nitride is a high purity ceramic with superior microstructural and chemical uniformity resulting in very consistent properties. It is manufactured with tightly distributed thermal and electrical properties that provide reliable performance in a variety of applications. AlN can be readily metallized and has been qualified by major users in high power and high frequency microelectronic packages as a cost-effective alternative to beryllia.

Aluminium Nitride Properties

Aluminium Nitride has excellent thermal conductivity, eight times higher than alumina and approaching beryllia at higher temperatures. It offers thermal expansion match to silicon and dielectric loss can be modified for specific customer applications.

Aluminium Nitride offers excellent resistance to wafer processing gases and plasma erosion.
Aluminium Nitride components can be custom fabricated as thin substrates or large structural shapes. Dielectric loss can be modified for specific applications.

Markets & Applications

Aluminium Nitride is the material of choice for a variety of high performance applications in markets worldwide as outlined here.
