We are now heading through April, following a very busy month of March.
During March we underwent our ISO 9001:2008 Audit, carried out by SGS United Kingdom Ltd. ISO 9001:2008 enables continuous improvement of our quality management systems (QMS) and processes, in turn improving the ability of our operations to meet customer requirements and expectations.
ISO 9001:2008 is based on eight quality management principles:
We are happy to report that our Audit was a success.
Here at Ceramic Substrates we are committed to the continuous improvement of the quality management system. This has only been possible through the wholehearted support and commitment of each and every employee which ensures that we operate effectively and efficiently to meet or exceed the needs of our customers.
Last year our CNC Engineers attended training for our Co-ordinate Measurement Machine and in March I spent four days out of the office to attend the same training course this time at Mitutoyo’s Coventry site. Mitutoyo as our preferred supplier of measuring and inspection equipment are renowned Worldwide for the quality & reliability of their measuring equipment. The course itself was very informative and upon my return to the Office I made a start on putting my training to good use.
We had another new member join our Team:-
Mick has joined us as a Factory Operative Supervisor to assist Sean our Production Manager with the day to day running of the General Factory Shop Floor. Back in the eighties Mick completed a four year apprenticeship with British Hovercraft (now called GKN) and qualified as a Mechanical Engineer. He continued to work there until the Machine Shop he worked in was closed down. Mick has been with us now a couple of weeks and is settling into his new role.
