Although we have been able to continue to fulfil our customers’ orders throughout the Pandemic, without the hard work of the Courier Drivers, for us dpd local and UPS collections and deliveries would have halted. We are extremely grateful to the drivers who have worked tirelessly to help keep the Country moving, not only for businesses but for the many who have had to self-isolate and rely on the “online ordering” service.
The Isle of Wight as a whole contained the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), with relatively low levels of infection during the lockdown and the Isle of Wight Ferries Red Funnel and Wightlink certainly played their part in helping the containment and protecting the people of the Isle of Wight.
Like everywhere throughout the country, the cycle paths, bridleways and footpaths became very popular with people carrying out their “allowed” daily exercise and I am sure many people came across things in their local areas that they never knew existed. Again, living on an Island we are fortunate for not only are we surrounded by the sea with many Esplanades, Promenades, beaches and costal paths, we do have a magnificent Countryside right on our doorstep.
Of course, we like many other manufacturing companies have noticed deep slumps in demand. The UK and many other Countries worldwide have endured a complete “lockdown” and now a staggered re-opening of commerce, but we believe the road to Economic recovery will be very much “up and down”.
We wish all our Customers and Suppliers the very best and hope your families and your communities are staying healthy and safe.
