Boron Nitride is a synthetic technical ceramic material, which is available in powder, solid, aerosol and liquid forms. In solid form it can be machined easily with ordinary metalworking tools. Boron Nitride has out-standing thermal characteristics; high thermal conductivity and excellent thermal shock resistance. Boron Nitride in solid form is available in 3 grades, each having different characteristics
HPBN most common grade is manufactured by hot pressing. Its crystal structure is hexagonal. Due to the uniaxial densification method, the anisotropy of HPBN platelet structure is created. As a result of the anisotropy, different physical properties occur, parallel or perpendicular to the pressing direction. HPBN is non toxic and can be easily machined.
