Ceramic Substrates & Components Limited is very pleased to offer the material BNP-2 Machinable Aluminium Nitride as a direct alternative to Shapal M. As you can see from the data sheets Shapal and BNP-2 are almost identical in everyway.
Ceramic Substrates offer a bespoke machining service in both materials as well as many other machinable ceramics and we would welcome the opportunity to quote in both Shapal and BNP-2, highlighting the cost advantage of BNP-2 over Shapal M.
Another advantage BNP-2 has over Shapal is that it is far more readily available to anyone who wishes to purchase it, whether it is in bespoke component form, blocks, rods or blanks for machining in your own workshops. Shapal has very few official outlets, thus keeping the price artificially high.
